A to Z Bookends
These handmade letters A and Z are made from music paper and book paper.
The letter A is made from guitar music that features 'A' chords and the words "effect without a cause - subatomic laws" (from Synchronicity by The Police, for the trivia buffs out there!)
The letter Z is made from an index page from a vintage atlas featuring tongue tingling placenames from Zaporizhzhya to Zarzis, and Zastron to Zell am See.
The 3D letters are made using original vintage atlas pages from original templates that I designed myself.
The frames have been custom made by a local framer here in Dublin. The letters are mounted on a black background with a black wooden frame, and are behind glass.
Frame dimensions: 8.5 x 8.5 x 2.2 inches (215mm x 215mm x 55mm)
These would make a beautiful wedding or first anniversary gift for a couple at the beginning of their journey through life together...and may even give them some ideas of places to visit and songs to sing along the way!
The vintage paper may yellow slightly with over time. They would be happiest positioned away from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and heat sources (ie best not to hang them over a heater).
